Anitra Fraser

Anitra Fraser is a Scientific Officer with EBEX. She is the first point of contact for all EBEX21 enquiries. She organises field management assessment of plots for compliance with MPI regulations. Her background is as a researcher providing technical support measuring agricultural greenhouse gases.

 

Fiona Carswell

Fiona Carswell is the Project Manager of EBEX. With Larry, Fiona initiated EBEX pooling of landowner carbon credits for sale in a pre-Kyoto voluntary market in 2001. This included development of methodologies for quantifying carbon and biodiversity gain during shrubland reversion. In addition, Fiona actively researches how carbon accumulates during indigenous forest succession, how indigenous forests can be restored, and how climate change action is enabled in New Zealand.

 

Larry Burrows

Larry Burrows is a scientific officer with EBEX. With Fiona, Larry initiated EBEX pooling of landowner carbon credits for sale in a pre-Kyoto voluntary market in 2001. He has contributed towards development of methodologies for quantifying carbon and biodiversity gain during shrubland reversion. He was on the PFSI design team and researches how carbon accumulates during indigenous forest succession, interactions between carbon sequestration and pest animal impacts, and how indigenous vegetation can be restored. He is leading the determination and mapping of land eligible for carbon farming and provides advisory services to the EBEX project as a whole.

 

Clayton Wallwork

Clayton Wallwork is a consultant to the EBEX team. He is a registered forestry consultant working for Greenco Ltd. His 15 year working background has featured indigenous forest management and carbon forest management. In 2003, while employed with MAF, Clayton was tasked to develop the Permanent Forest Sink Initiative working alongside policy and legal officials, industry representatives, science providers and landowners. Much of this early work has since been used in the forestry provisions of Emissions Trading Scheme. Since 2005 he has been an independent consultant working with a number of organisations and individuals providing advice on all aspects of carbon forest management.
